Our worked examples use fictional Aarav Sharma: 15 August 1991, 06:40, Jaipur, India. Vedic examples use Lahiri sidereal and whole-sign houses. Western examples use the tropical zodiac. The dated report sample is from 30 September 2026.

Eight categories, different weights

North Indian Ashtakoota compares the two Moon positions. Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi have maximum scores of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 respectively: 36 in total. This is a traditional score, not a percentage chance that a relationship will succeed.

Aarav and an invented comparison

Take Aarav’s sample Moon at about 2°47′ Libra in Chitra. For teaching only, give an invented partner a Moon at 20° Pisces in Revati; this is a hypothetical placement, not a second person’s birth chart. The eight points are 0 + 0.5 + 1.5 + 1 + 0.5 + 0 + 0 + 8 = 11.5 out of 36.

Read the rows rather than a verdict. This example has 8 Nadi points and 0 Bhakoot points. Traditional exceptions and cancellation rules require context; the headline score does not decide consent, kindness or shared values.

Beyond the number

Different regional tables can vary. South Indian ten-porutham matching asks related questions but is a separate method. Unknown times can produce a score range when the Moon changes nakshatra. Use the free matching table to inspect each row, and treat any paid comparison as reflection rather than a marriage decision.
