Each of you
Before comparing two charts, it helps to understand each person on their own terms. Here is the heart of each kundli.
Aarav
Aarav’s Lagna is Simha, the royal fire sign, with four grahas rising: Mangal, Budh, Guru and Shukra. He is warm, visible and generous, and he likes to lead. His Moon is in Tula, in Chitra nakshatra, which gives an emotional need for harmony, fairness and beauty. In love he is loyal and protective, and he needs to feel admired and appreciated.
His 7th house, the house of marriage, is Kumbha, and its lord Shani sits in his 6th house in its own sign. For Aarav, partnership grows through shared work and time. He is drawn to someone independent, intelligent and a little unconventional, and he does best with a partner who is also a true friend.
Meera
Meera’s Lagna is Vrishabha, an earth sign ruled by Shukra, and it is vargottama: her Navamsa Lagna is also Vrishabha. This gives a steady, patient, sensuous nature and a strong sense of what she values. Ketu sits in her Lagna, adding an inward, sometimes detached quality and good intuition.
Her Moon is in Kumbha, in Purva Bhadrapada pada 2, in her 10th house, together with Budh and with Shani in its own sign. Emotionally she is thoughtful, principled and focused on purpose and work; she may show care through reliability rather than words. Her Shukra, the planet of love, is exalted in Meena in her 11th house: a gift for affection, devotion and beauty, and a sign that love is deeply important to her.
What each of you needs in love
Aarav needs to feel appreciated and to be proud of his partner and his home. His Tula Moon wants gentleness and fairness; sharp words or public criticism hurt him more than he shows. He gives generously, protects fiercely and likes to make grand gestures.
Meera needs stability, honesty and a partner she can trust to keep his word. Her Kumbha Moon with Shani wants space, respect for her work and ideals, and time to think before she answers. She gives steady, practical devotion, and her exalted Shukra gives her a deep capacity for affection once she feels safe.
The main thing to understand is pace. Aarav’s fire moves quickly and warmly; Meera’s earth and air move carefully. Neither is wrong. When Aarav slows down and Meera says out loud what she feels, the combination is very strong.
Where the charts meet
The most striking link is this: Meera’s Moon sign, Kumbha, is exactly Aarav’s 7th house. Classical astrologers look for a partner’s Moon or Lagna in the 7th sign from one’s own Lagna as a natural sign of attraction, and here it is clear. In the other direction, Meera’s Lagna, Vrishabha, is Aarav’s 10th house of career and status, suggesting she may play a real part in his public life and ambitions.

Guna Milan in detail
The Ashtakoota system compares the two Moon nakshatras across eight factors, worth 36 points in all. Aarav is read as the groom and Meera as the bride, as the classical tables require. Your total is 18.5 out of 36.
What the score means
Traditionally 18 points is the minimum for a match to be considered, 24 and above is good, and 32 and above is excellent. At 18.5 you sit just above the line. That is a common result for couples who go on to build strong marriages. It simply means the details below matter more than the number.
The strong kootas
Nadi scores the full 8 of 8. Nadi carries the highest weight of all the kootas; Aarav’s nakshatra is Madhya nadi and Meera’s is Aadi nadi, and different nadis are considered ideal.
Graha Maitri scores the full 5 of 5. It compares the lords of your Moon signs: Shukra for Aarav’s Tula Moon and Shani for Meera’s Kumbha Moon, which are natural friends. This koota describes mental compatibility and friendship, and it is often the one couples feel most in daily life.
Varna (1 of 1) and Vashya (2 of 2) are also full, showing similar outlooks and a natural balance of influence between you.
The softer kootas
Gana scores 0 of 6. Aarav’s Chitra nakshatra belongs to the Rakshasa gana and Meera’s Purva Bhadrapada to the Manushya gana. Gana describes temperament; the difference suggests Aarav can be more intense and direct, while Meera is more measured. It asks for patience with each other’s style rather than a change of nature.
Bhakoot scores 0 of 7, because your Moon signs are fifth and ninth from each other. Many traditions treat this 5–9 relationship as the mildest Bhakoot dosha, and it is traditionally cancelled when the Moon-sign lords are friends, which yours are, since Graha Maitri is full.
Tara scores 1.5 of 3 and Yoni 1 of 4 (Aarav’s Chitra has the Tiger yoni and Meera’s Purva Bhadrapada the Lion). These describe day-to-day fortune and physical compatibility, and partial scores here are very common.
How elders usually read a match like this
In most families, a score above 18 with no Nadi dosha, strong Graha Maitri and balanced Mangal dosha is considered a match worth pursuing, with the Bhakoot and Gana points discussed rather than treated as barriers. Many astrologers would also compare the two Navamsas and the timing of the dashas, which the next chapters do.

Manglik and Nadi
Two doshas are checked in every traditional match: Mangal dosha and Nadi dosha.
Mangal dosha on both sides
Counted from the Lagna, Aarav’s Mangal is in his 1st house and Meera’s Mangal is in her 2nd house. Both placements form Mangal dosha from the Lagna. Counted from the Moon, neither chart has it: Aarav’s Mars is in the 11th from his Moon and Meera’s in the 5th from hers.
The classical rule is that Mangal dosha is balanced when both partners share it. Here both charts have it in the same way, from the Lagna only, and neither has it from the Moon. By the traditional rules this is a balanced match for Mangal dosha.
No Nadi dosha
Nadi dosha arises when both partners share the same nadi. Your nadis are different, Madhya and Aadi, so there is no Nadi dosha. This is the koota elders usually look at first, and it is clear.
What this means in practice
Mangal dosha is often misunderstood as a warning about the marriage itself. Classically, it describes strong Mars energy: courage, passion and quick reactions. When both partners carry it, as you both do, the energies are equal and the tradition treats the match as balanced. The practical lesson is to channel that shared energy into activity and to settle disagreements quickly rather than letting them build.
Timing together
Dashas show the chapters each of you is living through. When two people commit, their periods run side by side.
Where each of you is now
Aarav is in the final sub-period of Guru Mahadasha, Rahu Antardasha, until 26 August 2027, when his nineteen-year Shani Mahadasha begins. Shani rules his 7th house, so this coming Mahadasha directly activates marriage and long-term partnership. It is traditionally a strong period for commitment.
Meera is in Budh Mahadasha from April 2021 to April 2038, with Shukra Antardasha until July 2027. Shukra is the lord of her Lagna and the planet of love, and it is exalted in her chart. A Shukra sub-period is traditionally one of the most favourable times for romance and marriage.
The years after
From August 2027 Aarav’s Shani Mahadasha runs for nineteen years, and Meera’s Budh Mahadasha continues until 2038. Shani and Budh are natural friends, and Budh is the lord of Aarav’s 2nd and 11th houses of family wealth and gains, so the long run of the two dashas together is traditionally supportive of building a household, a shared income and a stable home.
A natural window
Put together, the months around mid-2027 are notable: Meera’s Shukra sub-period is ending, and Aarav’s Shani Mahadasha, which activates his 7th lord, is about to begin. Many families would look at this window for a formal commitment. For the exact date, choose a proper Vivah muhurta from the Panchang rather than relying on dashas alone.
Traditional practices
These practices are traditionally suggested for couples with this kind of match. They are supports, not conditions.
For the Gana difference
When temperaments differ, the tradition recommends shared worship and shared routines. Visiting a Shiva–Parvati temple together, or keeping a small shared practice such as lighting a lamp together in the evening, is a traditional way of bringing two natures into rhythm.
For Bhakoot
For a 5–9 Bhakoot, which is already softened here because your Moon-sign lords are friends, families traditionally offer prayers to Lord Ganesha and to Guru, and couples are encouraged to plan decisions about children and family together and early.
For Mangal on both sides
With Mangal strong in both charts, give that energy a shared outlet: walking, sport or physical projects done together. Traditionally, reciting the Hanuman Chalisa on Tuesdays is associated with calming Mars. Agree early on how you will handle disagreements; two strong Mars placements argue quickly and forgive quickly.
For communication
With Budh strong in Meera’s 10th house and in Aarav’s Lagna, words matter a great deal to both of you. A weekly unhurried conversation, without phones, about plans and feelings is the simplest and most effective practice this match can have.
How this report was made
Both charts and the Ashtakoota score were calculated by the iAstroGuru Engine, using the Lahiri ayanamsa, whole-sign houses and Vimshottari dashas. Our Ashtakoota tables have been cross-checked against a published table of all 11,664 nakshatra-pada pairs.
The text was written from these calculated facts and checked against both charts before release. Matching is one input into a family’s decision, never the whole of it. This sample was prepared for two fictional people, Aarav Sharma and Meera Iyer.
