About Cheiro numerology.

Who was Cheiro, and how do you say it?

Cheiro is pronounced “KY-roh”, like Cairo. It was the pen name of William John Warner (1866–1936), an Irish palmist and numerologist who later called himself Count Louis Hamon. The name comes from cheiromancy, the old word for palmistry. Because the name is usually heard rather than read, people also search for Kiro, Keiro, Kairo, Cairo, Chiro, Chero, Kero or Giro numerology: they all mean Cheiro’s system.

What is Chaldean numerology?

An old system of giving numbers to letters by their sound, which Cheiro popularised in the West in Cheiro’s Book of Numbers (1926). Letters take the values 1 to 8; nine is treated as sacred and is never given to a letter.

How is my Cheiro birth number worked out?

From the day of the month you were born, reduced to one digit: the 24th gives 2 + 4 = 6. Cheiro links each number to a planet: 1 Sun, 2 Moon, 3 Jupiter, 4 Uranus, 5 Mercury, 6 Venus, 7 Neptune, 8 Saturn and 9 Mars.

What are compound numbers?

The total of your name before it is reduced, from 10 to 52. Cheiro gave each its own symbolism, read as the hidden influence behind the single number: for example 19, the “Prince of Heaven”, is counted among the most fortunate.

How is Cheiro numerology different from Indian numerology?

The letter values are the same. Cheiro uses the Western planets Uranus for 4 and Neptune for 7 where Indian numerology uses Rahu and Ketu, and he reads compound numbers and name–birth harmony. Our Indian numerology page gives your Moolank and Bhagyank.

Should I change the spelling of my name?

We do not recommend name changes. Numerology is a tradition for reflection; your name is yours.
